Mobiregio is the result of a European project "Mobility of the Greater Region". Lorraine, Luxembourg, Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate and Wallonia have coordinated their efforts to develop this "common communication strategy for cross-border public transport in the Greater Region".

The INTERREG project

The project, initiated by the Economic and Social Council of the Greater Region and supported by the Transport Working Group of the Summit of the Greater Region, was selected as part of the programme INTERREG IV A Greater Region. In this respect, it is co-financed 50% by the European Regional Development Fund.

"Europe invests in your future."

A cross-border group

The lead partner, the Luxembourg Community of Transport or ‘Verkéiersverbond’, and the project manager, Pauline Pupier, organized a cooperation of all the partners in

  • the Steering Committee,
  • the Information Technology Task Force and
  • the Working Group Communication.

Success on which to build

With a corporate identity and a cross-border journey planner, transportation offers in the Greater Region have become more transparent. The development of a common communication strategy helped to establish personal and professional relationships of trust across borders. The network hopes to continue its work and contribute to the necessary improvement of mobility in the Greater Region.

Mobiregio is a collaborative platform bringing the public transport operators of the Greater Region together. Through cooperation we find ways to work together, exchange knowledge and best practices and inform the public of their options to travel in a sustainable way through the Greater Region.
