For that purpose, it defines activities and proposes projects in close collaboration with its partners: the AVL, the SNCFL, FLEAA, the RGTR and the TICE.

Regarding public transport, the Communauté des Transports is the direct adviser of the Ministry. Of its own initiative or at the request of the Ministry, it lists needs and submits proposals of schedules, lines and rates.

Regional Council of Lorraine

Benefiting from its strategic position in the heart of Europe, at the crossroads of roads, railroads and rivers, the Region of Lorraine made mobility a pillar of its policy in the service of the economy, the region and its inhabitants.

An executive body that is both the close-at-hand and privileged partner of the local actors in the Lorraine, the Regional Council plays a leading role in putting the synergy of public and private initiatives to the service of its 2.3 million inhabitants.

Beyond its role as the organizing authority of regional transportation for travellers (Metrolor network), the Region also coordinates the intermodal development between the various urban and interurban (long-distance) transport networks.

Thus, Mobiregio is a project of the Greater Region, which the Regional Council in the Lorraine is making use of as part of its intermodal approach built around a route planner project for the residents of Lorraine www.simplicim-lorraine.eu.

Ministry of Ecology, the Sustainable Development and Energy, DREAL Lorraine

The DREAL Lorraine contributes, under the authority of the Prefect, to the local development and implementation of strategies put forth by the Ministries of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, Equality and Housing.

In the field of transportation, it is instrumental in forming travel and transport policies that safeguard the environmental and favour multimodality. It promotes in particular the improvement of the conditions of transport and affiliated services in the Lorraine region (roads, railroad, waterways), and supports the constructors of vehicles and transport companies in their environmental activities and in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Belgian Province of Luxembourg

The Province of Luxembourg occupies a strategic place within the European Union. It is situated in the southeast of Belgium and is the province with the most cross-border commuters and travel, thanks to its proximity to France and the Grand Duchy of the Luxembourg.

With 4,440 km², this province is the largest within the Kingdom of Belgium but also the most green with its 210,000 hectares of woodland. It has 273,638 residents, living in 44 different municipalities, which translates into a density of 61.6 inhabitants per km² and makes it the least-populated province in Belgium. Arlon is its administrative centre.

SRWT-TEC

TEC (Transport En Commun) includes 5 companies of public transport active in Wallonia (a Belgian region of the South of Belgium):

  • The TEC Walloon Brabant
  • TEC Charleroi
  • The TEC Hainaut
  • The TEC Liège-Verviers
  • And the TEC Namur-Luxembourg

These 5 entities are headed by the Walloon Regional Company of Transport (SRWT), which is in charge of strategic and commercial management.

2,500 buses and trams of the TEC network travel about 120 million kilometres a year and transport 295 million travellers.

Public Service of Wallonia

Wallonia has a Parliament and a Government that implements the Walloon policy in essential domains like the economy, employment, training, research, foreign trade, new technologies, social action, town and country planning, mobility, public works, heritage, the environment, agriculture, health and local powers.

To fulfil their missions, the regional ministries are helped by the Public Service of Wallonia. The Operational General Management of Mobility and the Hydraulic Ways introduces and coordinates the policies to be followed regarding transport and mobility.
